Proposals should allow for continued community use of the Hall. Offers to be submitted by 12 noon Friday 26th September 2025. EDC sadly did not agree to our request to delay the marketing of the hall for 6 months to enable any community-led organisation to look into the feasibility of and submit a Community Asset Transfer. To bring everyone update, despite our petition and letters of complaint being submitted by community members, EDC’s proposals for Lenzie Public Hall were sadly passed unamended at the Council meeting on 6 March. Lenzie Public Hall is no longer to be refurbished. EDC are no longer to lease the hall to LEAP.

We’re currently feeling extremely sad. EDC proposing that:
– costs of £6 million now needed to renovate Lenzie Public Hall
– all work on the project should cease immediately
– EDC to withdraw from its agreement to lease the hall to LEAP
– Hall be declared “surplus to operational requirements”
Action needed today!

Papers for this evening’s meeting of EDC’s Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets Committee show the some action (although limited) is due and expected on Lenzie Public Hall by December 2022 …
